Who We Are

Established in 1943, Grayson County Child Welfare Board (CWB) is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to the protection, care, and support of our local foster children.

Our vision is to cultivate a community that reveres and wraps support around foster families so that every child in foster care receives a strong, loving, and capable home where powerful healing can take place.

Our foster kids belong to the village—we are that village. We believe that through community collaboration and connection, we can all work together to positively impact the lives of our neglected and abused foster children.
What We Do

Awareness: Together as a community we raise awareness for the needs our foster children have whether that be awareness for more foster parents, tangible needs, or how to support the foster children in our communities. We need YOU to be a part of raising this awareness and you can follow us on Facebook & Instagram to help!

Support: The Grayson County Child Welfare Board helps support our foster families in a variety of ways. We often pay for special requests including drivers ed, extra curricular activity costs, and unforeseen expenses. Each year we provide every foster child with Christmas gifts through our silent santa program in partnership with community donations. Quarterly we send gifts to our foster families as well as host family fun events at local entertainment venues. In partnership with local Grayson County churches we provide a monthly Parents Night Out, and we host community events to help raise awareness.

Donate: We are 100% volunteer based and non-profit funded. Your time and your money truly has an impact on the ways we work to support our foster children. The rainbow room supplies foster families with everything needed to care for children—from toothbrushes, clothes, toiletries, diapers, formula, and school supplies. Needs are ongoing and updated regularly. Please visit here to donate needed items. The rainbow room makes that task economically possible thanks to donations from our community.
